2020 - A Year full of Surprises
2020 - What a year… A year of surprises on many fronts. Housing has certainly been a big surprise this year. When Covid 19 happened and we went on lockdown, many of you predicted that a recession would equal a housing crash. I was very optimistic and predicted the opposite based on facts from economists, my real estate coaching, and the information we got from Berkshire Hathaway. Sure enough, the housing market soared in 2020 - despite a worldwide pandemic, unemployment, and an economic recession. Home Sales were 20% higher in Q3 + Q4 in 2020 than in 2019. They are still gathering all the final data from this year, however, Chief Economist Lawrence Yun predicts home prices to be up 7-9% this year from a year ago. People are viewing their homes as something special, and they are investing more money into remodeling, gardening, moving up into bigger homes due to working from home, teaching from home, cooking at home, and spending most of their time at home!
If you’re interested in a copy of a housing report and state of the market, let me know and I will send you a copy. I’m happy to let you know what the experts are predicting for the 2021 housing market as well.
This year especially, we are grateful for our staying healthy, and for our family, friends, and neighbors who have trusted us to buy or sell a home this year. My real estate team and I helped more than 40 happy families buy or sell a home this year!
Wishing you and your family good health, peace, happiness, and prosperity during this holiday season and throughout the New Year.
