Janicke's Market Update - May 2016

Dear All Mothers Out There!
"The meaning of being a mother is virtually endless. A mother is a protector, disciplinarian and friend. A mother is a selfless, loving human who must sacrifice many of their wants and needs for the wants and needs of their children. A mother works hard to make sure their child is equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make it as a competent human being. Being a mother is perhaps the hardest, most rewarding job a woman will ever experience." By Susan Diranian
My two monkeys in the picture above are Emma (7) and Jack (4). I love them more than anything in this world, but they also drive me nuts! Being a working mom, my kids already know how to open lockboxes, when "mom" is on the phone they know to be quiet, and Emma loves getting dressed up to come to my office and make herself a hot chocolate. With my husband being a General Contractor remodeling houses, our dinner conversations often involves around houses!
So how do you raise smart, appreciative, caring, polite and conscious little people? In a fast paced world with electronics, we constantly have to make a serious effort to turn off the iPads and iPhones to sit around the dinner table and talk about our day. Lately, I've been getting help from Emma cooking our Blue Apron dinners, and both kids have been doing chores to sometimes earn money. Teaching our kids the value of money is important, and learning that they have to work to get something or somewhere in life. Going to work is easy, being a mom is definitely the hardest, but most rewarding job in the world! I love being a mother and have huge respect for all mothers out there. So high five to all MOMS!
Happy Mother's Day,
Janicke
